Position Overview
As a Software Engineering Lead for Baxter Planning, you will head our dynamic scrum team of developers. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive full-stack development expertise to lead and mentor a team of developers, driving the creation and deployment of innovative software solutions. Responsibilities
- Lead a scrum team of developers, providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative, agile environment.
- Architect and develop robust software solutions leveraging AWS services, including Lambda and RDS, along with Angular, Node.js, Python, and PostgreSQL.
- Champion the integration of data lake technologies to advance data management and analytics capabilities.
- Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to best practices in agile methodologies and DevOps.
- Ensure high standards of software quality, security, and performance are maintained.
- Collaborate with product owners and cross-functional teams to align development with business goals and customer requirements.
- Guide the team in implementing effective coding, testing, and software maintenance practices.
- Manage scrum events, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Lead strategic planning for software projects, including resource allocation and schedule management.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, particularly in AWS and data lake ecosystems, generative AI to enhance software development processes.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software development with proficiency in JavaScript/Angular, Node.js, Python, and PostgreSQL.
- Extensive experience with AWS services, especially Lambda functions and RDS.
- Demonstrated leadership in a scrum/agile development environment.
- Strong grasp of software development life cycle, agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and its implementation in software development.
- Knowledge of data lake technologies is highly advantageous.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Azure), and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Apply your familiarity with incorporating Generative AI into daily development tasks, using these advanced technologies to enhance both the efficiency and the innovation of software solutions.
- Expertise in CI/CD tools and methodologies.
- Solid understanding of branching strategies and release management.
- Expertise in front-end frameworks/libraries like Angular, React or Vue.
- Familiarity with Redis and message queue systems.
- Proven track record of successfully delivered software projects.
